Cambridge – The Cambridge Valley Rescue Squad, Inc., will be hosting a New York State Emergency Medical Technician Original and Refresher course at its Education Center. The course is sponsored by the Mountain Lakes Regional EMS Council and will be instructed by two of CVRS’ Instructors, Paramedics Jamie Barton and Craig Reynolds.
The course will begin on Thursday July 11, and will be held on Thursdays evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in July and August, and then Monday and Thursday evenings in September, October, and November. The New York State written exam will be held on November 21, 2019.
The course will include weekly self-study, on-line assignments. Original students will also complete an internship. Tuition for original students is $1,225.00, and is $430 for refresher students (current or previous EMTs). Tuition includes all books and materials. Many agencies pay tuition for their members to attend.
“Volunteers are the heart and soul of CVRS,” stated Adrienne Hamilton, Captain of Development. “We need more volunteers to be part of our team. Our community depends on it.”
